As part of the Defense Reauthorization Bill of 2007, Senators Jim Talent, R-Mo., and Bill Nelson, D-Fl, introduced an amendment that is bipartisan caps interest levels for several loans to solution users and their dependents at 36 per cent. This amendment, which passed the Senate at the conclusion of June, tries to curb the training of payday lenders targeting army workers. The Talent-Nelson amendment is a step that is important protecting naive and susceptible solution people from predatory loan providers and may remain in the meeting committee bill.
